Gordon B. Hinckley

Our wonderful Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at the age of 97 on Sunday. He was a wonderful man and was loved by all. I will remember him for his humor and good nature. I am so grateful for all the service he gave to the church. My mother-in-law just emailed me this poem that I wanted to share with everyone.

Prophetic Passing
I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior While Father says,
"Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward - there's work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.

I want one

Has anyone ever noticed how incredibly cute bulldogs are? Seriously, they are one of the cutest creatures to ever walk the earth. Kelly and I enjoy watching the MTV show Rob and Big and this is where I learned of my passion for bulldogs. Rob and Big have this adorable bulldog named "Meaty." He is the perfect companion and he even learned to skateboard. I have done my research and learned they are good with children and love to be around people. I went through a stage where I was determined to buy one, Kelly said no. In case you didn't realize, he's the rational one in this relationship. If only we didn't live in a tiny apartment! Nevertheless, we will eventually add one of these wonderful animals to our family.
You can't say they aren't cute...don't you just want to squeeze them?

Rexburg Temple

Rexburg is moving up in the world. The LDS church has built a new temple right in our little town of Rexburg. Kelly and I cannot wait for it to open. We had the opportunity to go to the open house yesterday. We were able to walk through the temple and see everything. It was absolutely gorgeous and we feel so blessed to have a temple so close to home.

My Favorite Recipe

I read my sister-in-law Autumns blog and she started a favorite recipe chain. If you are reading this post then you are tagged and must post your favorite recipe too! What a good idea Autumn. :) I am very new to cooking but one of Kelly and I's favorite things is Taco Thursdays. I have a class every thursday night so when Kelly gets home from work, he cooks!! Its awesome. I taught him how to make these very easy taco's.

Spicy Taco's

1 lbs. ground beef

1 medium onion chopped

1 packet Lawry's Hot Taco Seasoning

1 box Taco Bell Ranch Taco Shells

Shredded Lettus

1 Chopped tomato

1/2 cup shredded cheese

Sour Cream (optional)

Taco Sauce (optional)

In a medium skillet mix ground beef and taco seasoning for about 3 minutes. Add the chopped onion and cook another 2-3 minutes or until beef is fully cooked. Add the beef mixture to the taco shells and top with lettus, tomato, cheese and whatever else you like on your taco's. Enjoy!

This recipe is so great because ANYONE can make it. Believe me, if Kelly can do it, anyone can!!!

Go Chargers!

Today was a big day for the San Diego Chargers!! They defeated the Indianapolis Colts (28 to 24) in an extremely important playoff game. As many of you know when you get married you learn to love the things your spouse loves. Hense the reason I love the Chargers. Kelly served his mission in San Diego and adapted to San Diego sports. We watched the game all morning and Kelly even wore his blue shirt to church to support his team. The Chargers will be playing the New England Patriots next Sunday and we will be supporting them 100%. Go Chargers!

Kelly wore "Charger's Colored Shirt" to church today and he now thinks it's his lucky shirt. Doesn't he look amazing?

New Nephew

Kelly and I had the chance to travel to California this week to visit my family and meet our new nephew Nicholas Elliott Cordon. We had a really great time and were grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the whole family. Our weekened was full of baby holding, movie watching, and game playing. The trip was too quick but full of fun!
