Our First Christmas

Christmas was very eventful this year. We spent the holiday at Kelly's parents house with his brothers and sisters and their children...it couldn't have been more fun! We woke up Christmas morning and opened gifts and had homemade hash browns that were out-of-this-world-amazing. The gift of the day was tickets to a Utah Jazz game for Kelly and a gift card for me to go shopping! It was a wonderful morning, however, there was a horrible flu bug traveling around the Allred household and Kelly got it on Christmas Day. He was deathly ill all day and only got out of bed to puke. I felt awful and wished there was something I could do to make him feel better. Luckily, it was a short-lived sickness and he was better the next morning, but I woke up with the bug yesterday. We are fine now and are so grateful we were able to recover quickly.
Our neices and nephews love their Uncle Kelly, especially baby Teegun.

Uncle Kelly gets nervous holding infants, but baby Teegun loved him and Kelly was even able to rock him to sleep. They were adorable together. This is our neice summer opening her gifts in her adorable Christmas PJ's.

Snowy Days

Have I ever mentioned that I don't like snow? Well I have developed a special hatred for it today. Our landlord is too cheap to plow our parking lot and I got the car stuck ... twice. I am from California and really shouldn't be driving in the snow at all and today was just not my day. On my way to work this morning I almost made it out with no incident, but I got stuck in the driveway. I called Kelly but he was busy at work and couldn't answer the phone, I was about to give up when a nice man stopped and helped me. The second time was after my lunch break, this time I couldn't even make it out of my parking spot. I decided to throw in the towel which is why I am at home blogging, instead of at work. It's not my fault if I couldn't make it to work, right? =)This is the wheel that got stuck. The snow doesn't even look that deep but the car would not budge.
This is our car, "Ivan", stuck in the middle of our parking lot. I just left him there because I didn't know what else to do. I guess Kelly will have to move it when he gets home from work!

Man and Wife

Our Sister and new brother-in-law finally tied the knot! They were married in the Logan, UT temple on December 21st. It was a really great day. We were so excited to welcome Billy into our family. They make an awesome couple and we could not be happier for them!

Winter Wonderland

We have the cutest neices and nephews in the world. We were at Grandma and Grandpa Allreds house and decided to go play in the snow! Here are some of the pictures from our adventures. Christmas time at the Allred house has been an absolute blast. We are so grateful that we are able to spend this time with our wonderful family.

Home

Kelly and I are leaving tomorrow to go to Logan for April and Billy's wedding and then on to Star Valley for Christmas! We are beyond excited to get a break from school and work. Work was extremely slow today so I transfered the calls to my cell phone and went home to do a deep cleaning. Our apartment was getting pretty dirty so I cleaned out the oven, stove, and fridge, I scrubbed the shower and sink, I mopped and vacuumed the floors ... now everything is squeaky clean! I really don't mind cleaning once I get started, I just find it hard to get motivated. Here are some pictures of our cute little apartment. It's funny, we've only lived here 4 months but it really does feel like "home." We love it!

I added this last picture just because I think its cute. This is Kelly and I just before going to our good friends Stephanie and Bill's wedding reception.

P.S. Our newest nephew, Nicholas Elliot Cordon, was born yesterday! He is doing really well ... pictures to come.

Ho Ho Ho

We were so excited school was finally over that we decided to have Mindy and Ryan over to make gingerbread houses! Theirs turned out much better than ours. We were struggling just to get it to stand on its own. Kelly and I had so much fun. I think we liked eating the candy more than decorating our house. What a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Relief

I am on campus right now and I just finished my last final!!! Hallelujah. It is an amazing feeling to be done with the semester. I am excited to relax and enjoy time with Kelly. Now I feel like we can finally get into the Christmas spirit. I want to make gingerbread houses and listen to Christmas music, sip hot chocolate and sit on Santa's lap ... its going to be wonderful. Congrats to everyone who just completed another semester. It over!

Winter Break

I cannot express how excited I am for school to be over for the semester. Many people told me school gets easier after you get married but Kelly and I would have to disagree. We are both incredibly busy with all our homework plus working. Kelly and I are really looking forward to going to April and Billy's wedding and relaxing with our families. We can't wait to see everyone and to be done with this crazy semester. Merry Christmas!!!

california dreamin

Kelly and I went to California to visit my family for Thanksgiving and had an absolute blast. We both felt like the trip was way too short though!! We had some pretty interesting experiences ... my dad thought it would be a good idea to take Kelly and I on a "leisurely bike ride". This ride turned out to be anything but leisurely ... in fact it was downright painful. We went on a two hour ride up Mount Diablo, it was basically straight UP the entire way. By the end of it we couldn't feel our legs and I swear I had bruises in areas I wouldn't have expected! Even though it was really tough, we got some pretty cool pictures. =) Our family went to Round Hill Country Club for Thanksgiving dinner because none of us wanted to spend all day in the kitchen. Dinner was amazing and it was a lot of fun getting dressed up and going out. The plumbing in the house went out on Thanksgiving Day, and since it was a holiday, it was impossible to fix until Friday. We all went to the neighbors house when we had to go ... only in the Cordon household! Overall it was a super fun trip and we can't wait to go back.
